Electrification is more than a shift in powertrains for Volvo, it represents a new paradigm in car design.
With the Volvo Concept Recharge, Volvo becomes one with the mantra of “less but better”.
By casting off the combustion engine, Volvo’s designers were able to extend the wheelbase, which in turn allowed for the repositioning of the seats, optimisation of the roofline, and dropping the hood. All while retaining a familiar face highlighted by 'Thors Hammer' front lamp treatments.
As stated by Robin Page, head of design, “Inside the Concept Recharge, we create a truly Scandinavian living room feeling,”
Thanks to a new platform, which is not shared with combutsion vehicles, the Concept Recharge offers a flat floor providing more space and improved seating postions.

A 15" display is the focus upon entry. The touchscreen will host Volvo's latest infotainment system.
The seating and surfaces are a combination of sustainable and natural materials offering clean lines, a hallmark of Scandinavian design.
Volvo's Concept ReCharge shows us the design language for the brand's journey into electric vehicles.
I am liking what they've done and look forward to future production models.
